Ludmilla (Milla) Sekret began ballroom dancing at the age of 8 in Riga, Latvia. With true passion for dance sport and under strict Russian instruction, she quickly became one of the best dancers in her age category in the country. In 1996, Milla came to Canada and continued her training with teachers in Montreal making the commute from Ottawa once and sometimes twice per week. In 2005, she moved to New Jersey to train with two of the world's best dancers and teachers. In 2007, Milla opened Ottawa Dance Sport Studio and has been teaching ever since.

In the last 4 years of her competitive career, Milla travelled with her then-dance-partner, Ilya Maletin, to Los Angeles, New York and Boston on a regular basis to improve and update her skills as professional dancer and teacher. Milla and Ilya trained regularly with the world renowned teacher to the world's top dancers - Shirley Ballas. They also competed at the professional level in competitions all over Canada and the US. Melissa McCabe joined the Studio's team of instructors with three years of teaching experience. Her specialty, before joining Ottawa Dance Sport, had been American style ballroom and latin dance as well as wedding dance choreography. In the past year and a half, she has been training in International latin. Now, on top of teaching wedding couples and American style dances, Melissa is teaching students in the International style ballroom dancing.

Yuriy Shelkovyy and Oksana Ivanova - The Studio's Standard aka Ballroom Teachers - are professional dancers and joined the Studio’s teaching team in 2010. They train with top world-class teachers and are competing successfully in Canada and the United States. Their focus is on the standard dances: Waltz, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, Tango and Quickstep. Tito T. Montano - The Studio's Wedding Dance Specialist - is the most experienced teacher at the Studio. Wedding dance choreography and American style ballroom and latin are Tito's specialty. Tito has created some of the most beautiful wedding dances for Ottawa's newlyweds. Tito is also one of Ottawa's best known and highly renowned salsa teachers. Tito joined the Ottawa Dance Sport team in 2008.

Michael (Misha) Radko has come to Ottawa Dance Sport Studio from Kharkiv, Ukraine in October 2009. On top of his extensive experience in teaching ballroom dancing to both adults and children, Michael holds a master's degree from the Kharkiv State Academy of Physical Culture in physical education and dance sport. Michael is also highly skilled in wedding dance choreography.
