Kids classes are offered in 3 age categories: small kids (6-8 yrs), kids (9-12 yrs), and teens (13 and up). The dance style taught is International Latin. Every semester, they’ll learn a routine in 2 or 3 of the following dances: Cha-Cha-Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble, or Jive.
Class content will vary between learning steps and technique. International Latin is a great style for kids to learn, because it can be a rigorous physical activity. Latin technique promotes fluidity in movement, proper posture, and good footwork.
Kids are welcome to join mid-semester at a pro-rated fee!

Some children start our program with trouble looking at themselves in the mirror, and evolve to become confident and happy in the power of their movements.
If you don’t have a dance partner for your child, don’t worry! Kids will be partnered up in classes. If your child chooses to compete, then a partner is required. We offer competitive training for kids with the ambition.
Kids who wish to join our competitive program are able to do so by adding private lessons to their weekly training. Competitions run 3 times per year in Ottawa; however, students wishing to compete more often do so in competitions that run yearly in Montreal and Toronto.
Private lessons are recommended in addition to group lessons. In private lessons, the teacher focuses attention on the single student or the couple in the lesson, helping students develop their dance skills even more effectively.
